Collin spent the weekend with Grandma Linda (and Sunday morning with grandpa Herman) while Maurice and I got out of town. Friday night we went out to our favorite spot, Escapades for a couple margaritas and then stayed in bed until almost 11 Saturday morning. We then headed down to Milwaukee for a Brewer game. The tickets were Maurice's Father's Day present. We stopped at a bar (SOB's) before the game and played several rounds of Deer Hunter, between the 2 of us we took out lots of moose and bighorn sheep :) At the game we ate just about every food they offered and enjoyed watching a Brewer victory against the Astros. After the game we stopped at McKinley beach and happened to get there just as fireworks were being shot off somewhere in the downtown area, but we had a good view. (So romantic, isn't it?) It was about midnight by the time we started to head home and we decided we were too tired to go the whole way so we stopped at a dive in Belgium. Not too sure what the guy thought of us coming in that late with nothing bu
t a bag of chips. We woke up to a disappointing continental breakfast and then finished our drive home to get our babe. We missed him so much! And poor baby hasn't been feeling well all weekend, he's been having a fever off and on, and just doesn't seem to be feeling like his usual happy self. This evening he fell asleep at 5 and has not woken up since (it's now 9:40). So we may have an interesting night in front of us... At least we are both refreshed!

Wild Party in Sweetheart City
Last weekend Collin and I went up north with Mandie and Kamara to a party at the LaRock cottage in Middle Inlet(dad was at pig wrestling at the Cauldron Falls bar). Collin was such a good boy and had so much fun. Cousin Brylea shared her 4 Wheeler so Collin got to take a ride... Collin also went for lots of stroller rides and mostly just hung out and watched everyone play volleyball, horseshoes, cards and of course eat! It was nice to be able to catch up with a lot of the family that we haven't seen in a long time and there were lots of kids for Collin to play with. He didn't seem to mind being passed from grandma to aunty to cousin to mom and back to grandma all day long. He took a little nap on a blanket for awhile and then was good to go for the rest of the day. Collin went down for bed at night in his pack n play in the 'back bedroom' at his usual time and slept through the night like a champ. We both needed a good cottage sleep!
First Time in the Pool
Collin and I went swimming at Aunty Susie's house one hot evening a few weeks ago. We walked over (it's only about a mile), but it was so hot that we were ready to jump in the pool when we got there. Great Grandma Muck and Orv were there as well as Marc, Shayna and Maverick. Collin LOVED the water and didn't mind that it was pretty cold. Aunty Susie lathered him up with some baby wash so he was nice and fresh and he stayed in the water until he started to shiver. We've been there one more time since then and he still has a blast!

On My Own Two Feet!
Collin stood on his own for the first time tonight! (At least the first time for me, I always seem to miss his "real" first) He stood by his rocking chair for quite a long time. He was holding on for dear life to the fabric on the chair for awhile, but then he got comfortable and just kind of leaned on the chair. What a big kid!

Beach Time
After a looong night at Summerfest a day at the beach sounded quite refreshing. So we packed Collin up and headed up north to Newton Lake. The water was a little cold still so we just plopped Collin down on the beach and let him have at it. He loved it and was all "wooh wooh wooh", he didn't even mind the waves splashing up to his chest. He even loved to eat the sand, I didn't capture that picture though. He was so good until he tipped over and got a mouthful of water, then he let us know he was done. After that we hung out in the shade and then took some scenic drives.

Collin's 6 Month Photos
A few weekends ago we had Collin's 6 month pictures taken by my cousin, Marc. We started at Marc's house for some naked pictures and then headed to the Wildlife Sanctuary for some outdoor pictures of the family. It was sprinkling the whole time we were, but Marc still managed to get some great shots. Thanks Marc!!

Happy 7th Month Birthday!!
Collin spent his 7 month birthday at Bright Beginnings. These are some shots of him playing on the floor mat with all kinds of fun toys.

I can't believe how much he has changed even in just the past couple of weeks. He has been sitting on his own for about 3 weeks now. He loves to explore and is no longer entertained by the boring "baby" toys we have at home. I think it's time we go shopping and get him some new stuff. Last night we went to the library and he was fascinated by having some new books to look at. Collin has 4 teeth, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom with another one poking through on top. Teething is not always a fun process for him, but he gets through it! Collin has also been experimenting with all kinds of new foods. He gets served all table foods at daycare, today he had english muffins and bananas for breakfast, and scalloped potatoes, peas, bread and cantaloupe for lunch. He of course still gets his baby food since he is just trying all this new stuff out. He drinks from a sippy cup sometimes too, of course he does it better for grandma and his teachers, but we keep practicing! Speaking of grandma... she came to visit for lunch today and when she left she said Collin waved bye-bye. Now I of course missed it, but 2 of his teachers saw it also. So I guess as of 7/3/08 Collin can wave bye-bye!
Have a safe and happy 4th of July everyone!! Collin will be spending his day with Grandma Rita, Maurice and I are going to Summerfest. YAY!!
